More than a workplace

For the new EMEA headquarters for ASICS, the architects took the brand’s mission statement – A Sound Mind in a Sound Body – and translated it into a building that boosts workplace health and wellness, as well as innovation. Central (literally) to the concept is an immersive brand experience.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have delivered for ASICS. Their new world-leading headquarters will help to attract top-tier talent and inspire employees to engage with their brand, build community connections, and fuel creativity and collaboration under the company’s core philosophy. The building’s sleek brand identity, range of work spaces and amenities, and beautiful surroundings create a truly vibrant and unique experience for employees, clients and visitors.” — Nanne de Ru, Founder of Powerhouse Company

Working on wellness

The building was awarded LEED/WELL Gold Building Standard Certification for its exceptional steps in advancing health and wellbeing. The building is flooded with natural light; natural materials were used; greenery was added to reduce stress and enhance air quality; and a healthy indoor environment was created through climate installations. The design provides focus work spaces to help employees concentrate, and stairs and a gym to get them moving.

“The identity of the brand is visible throughout the interior. We have done this by using Japanese materials and graphics. The building is very open and spacious, and the interior design and use of materials ensure a comfortable, human dimension. This allows ASICS employees to feel completely at home in this office.”— Martijn Prins, Associate Director CBRE Design

Healthy at heart

ASICS World, a playfully multi-layer, three-dimensional showcase of ASICS products, is placed at the heart of the building – in a soaring atrium that acts as the building’s social center. Broad, ‘sit-able’ staircases wrap around this core, encouraging interaction and movement – in fact, the elevators are tucked away to encourage people to take the stairs! As well as diverse working and meeting spaces, we added balconies, a gym and a restaurant, similarly inspiring both social interaction and healthy lifestyles.
